Mitchell Marsh had picked up the injury after SRH captain David Warner asked him to bowl the fifth over of the match against Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB).
Marsh couldn’t complete the over as he injured himself within the second delivery while stopping a drive from his countryman and skipper Aaron Finch.
He, however, went on to bowl to more deliveries before coitus interruptus of the over.
“It seems a significant injury. i’m unsure if he (Mitchell Marsh) be ready to compete in any of the matches,” a team source told PTI
“It doesn’t look great. tons of courage from him to steer out there and check out his best, but it had been unfortunate tonight,” Warner told Star Sports.
“Obviously, what you saw out there, it had been quite painful, he can’t put any weight thereon ,” Warner had said after the match.
Kane Williamson to be injured
Another big blow for SRH that Kane Williamson has also injured during the training and didn’t play the yesterday’s match. But SRH is hoping that he will fir for the upcoming matches.
Kane Williamson isn’t fit, he hurt his quad (quadriceps) while training the opposite day and (with) Mohammad Nabi. We felt playing two spinners here.
Given the thought process, we wanted to chase which probably wasn’t an option if we got stuck the opposite way, so we went with bowling all-rounder hitting the wicket as hard as we could,” Warner said within the presentation ceremony.
