Delhi Capitals suffers a huge loss for their first match. Ahead of their fixture against KXIP later within the day, Delhi Capital’s fast bowler Ishant Sharma has suffered a back injury on the eve of the match.

Injury to Ishant, right before their opening match, has come as an enormous blow to Delhi Capitals and their plans. The 32-year old was instrumental in Delhi Capitals success in IPL last year.

In 13 matches, Ishant took 13 Wickets at an honest economy of seven .58 runs per over and a strike rate of 21.23.

Ishant along side Kagiso Rabada formed a potent fast bowling pair as Delhi Capitals made it to playoffs in IPL 2019.

Delhi Capitals, now, need to play either of Harshal Patel or Avesh Khan or alternatively they will choose two foreign seam-bolwing options.

But two seam bowling options means Capitals will find it hard to play Sandeep Lamichhane, who are often a much bigger threat on UAE pitches.

Delhi Capitals are going to be up against KXIP for his or her opening fixture in Dubai later within the day.

While both teams look strong on batting with exceptional Indian talents in their ranks, it’ll be their bowling which may decide outcome of the match.
