CSK: After Suresh Raina pulled out of the IPL because of personal reasons, Chennai Super Kings have suffered another blow as off-spinner Harbhajan Singh has confirmed his withdrawal from the upcoming IPL season citing personal reasons.

Stay safe and Jai Hind”
-Harbhajan Singh posted on his twitter account.
CSK CEO Kasi Viswanathan said that Harbhajan has informed the franchise of his decision to not participate within the IPL this season. “Harbhajan has just informed us that he won’t participate thanks to personal reasons. we’ll ask the team management and accordingly take a choice on whether to hunt a replacement or not. we’ve just come to understand about his decision. So we’ll need time,” he told.
Harbhajan had not been a part of CSK’s five-day camp in Chennai and had not travelled to Dubai with the team either, resulting in doubts about his availability. With Harbhajan now confirming his decision to not participate , CSK will need to primarily bank on Ravindra Jadeja, Mitchell Santner and Imran Tahir within the spin department. Karn Sharma, Piyush Chawla and R Sai Kishore are the opposite spinners within the CSK squad.
Ever since CSK landed in Dubai for the IPL, which is scheduled to start out from September 19, they need had to affect quite few setbacks. 13 members of the CSK contingent, including players Deepak Chahar and Ruturaj Gaikwad, tested positive for Covid-19, following which they need had to be anesthetize institutional quarantine. It then emerged that senior batsman Raina had decided to go back home from Dubai citing personal reasons. With Harbhajan too unavailable, it’ll be up to the likes of MS Dhoni and Shane Watson to steer the CSK charge this season.
